Application of Iowa Open Records Statute
Access to personally identifiable information in public records at state and local levels of government in Iowa is controlled by Iowa Code chapter 22 and other sections of the Iowa Code. Chapter 22 establishes general policies for access to government records in the State of Iowa. Other sections of the Iowa Code, as well as certain federal statutes, deal with confidentiality issues.
